What is the world to suffocate the very thing that might restore its life?
The last Isteriaeth in the realm of Breteria, Elric is no stranger to heartache or danger. In his nearly four hundred years of existence he has seen kingdoms crumble, loved ones fall, and stars burn out across the sky. He believes he has nothing left to lose, then one final thing is stolen from him—freedom.
Kidnapped and taken to the Kingdom of Obarian, he is claimed by their queen and bound to her will. Beneath the weight of his losses, an uprising that demands revolution, and the sharp eye of a ruler who would see her people die before she relinquishes her crown, Elric’s power grows volatile and leads him to question his own destiny.
But when he finds himself fleeing for his life beside the one woman he despises above all others, the past and present collide to reveal a future that magic alone may not be able to save…

About R.V. Wilbur
R.V. Wilbur has been in love with reading ever since she received her first Little Golden Book library at the age of two. A love of words soon followed and, after publishing selected poems, she drafted her first book at the age of thirteen. Despite all of this she is still somehow terrible at writing blurbs, so this is about all you get. She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two children, and of course her black cat Rory Pond. And she's probably drinking coffee. No, she is definitely drinking coffee.
Follow her on Instagram @RVWilburAuthor for all writing updates!
